We provide a geographical perspective of the overall distribution of the main research and development clusters on RF and microwaves in this region. We make a summary of RF and microwave academic research in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Industrial research and development in RF and microwaves in Latin America is also briefly reviewed.
