An updated and open sourced LaTeX template for internal research reports of the Doctoral Program in Engineering Sciences at ITESO

Abstract

An updated and open sourced LaTeX template to write formal internal research reports for the PhD Program in Engineering Sciences at ITESO is presented. It provides a custom document class (iteso-irr) compatible with Overleaf, implementing the institutional formatting standard: automated cover page and title page generation, Roman-numeral section numbering, IEEE-style captions and citation format, and BibTeX-based bibliography management with Zotero integration. The template separates content from presentation, allowing authors to focus on technical writing while the class enforces consistent formatting across all reports in the doctoral program. accessible from https://github.com/iteso-research/template-irr
