Ítem Ending violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Latin America; Outcome report(ITESO, 2022-04) Rodríguez-Aké, Agustín L.; Pérez-DeAlba, Andrea; Montiel-Prado, Liliana R.The "Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Latin America (VAWG)" project was implemented during the 2021-22 fiscal year by the ITESO High Impact Social Innovation Center at the appointment of the British Embassy in Mexico. The project focused on identifying common challenges and priorities for regional work on the prevention of violence against women and girls in conjunction with community leaders, representatives of civil society organizations and universities from 8 Latin American countries (Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Bolivia). In turn, intervention approaches from the UK's What Works to Prevent Violence program were addressed, in order to share knowledge, skills and networks focused on contributing to the reduction of intimate partner violence in the region from an evidence-based approach. A dialogue methodology informed by collective intelligence tools and three theoretical frameworks was used: The Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (Damschroder, Aron, Keith, Kirsh, Alexander, & Lowery, 2009); The Generalizability Framework (Glennester, 2017); and the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability (v2, Sekhon, Cartwright, & Francis, 2017). This implemented methodology was highly accepted by the participants. A key result, based on the results of the behavior change indicators, was the increase in the likelihood that participants adopted evidence-based models, showing a greater willingness to implement effective interventions if given the appropriate opportunity and collaboration. In addition to that, the reviewed What Works interventions are considered acceptable and promising to implement in those 8 countries in the region, especially community-based and economic empowerment interventions. Finally, the need to adapt interventions to specific contexts to maximize their impact is highlighted, through a case-by-case analysis of local conditions as well as technical support to organizations to strengthen the fidelity and quality of implementation.
