Ítem Report of preliminary materials to deliver the interpersonal intervention developed and rapid tested(ITESO, 2021-01) Rodríguez-Aké, Agustín L.; Olmos-Vega, Jacqueline A.; Flores-López, Humberto A.This report documents the development and rapid testing of an interpersonal intervention designed to reduce sugar consumption and, consequently, decrease obesity levels in two municipalities in Jalisco. As part of the Better Health Programme Mexico, funded by the Prosperity Fund UK, intervention materials were developed based on behavior change theories (COM-B and the Behaviour Change Wheel), and pilot tests were conducted in specific communities. The process included an extensive literature review, expert interviews, and qualitative fieldwork in Acatlán de Juárez and Zapopan. The intervention focuses on women as change agents within their households, promoting the reduction of sugary drinks and the recognition of high-sugar food labels. Using an agile model, five rapid testing cycles were implemented to optimize the materials and ensure their cultural relevance and effectiveness. This work promotes the development of local capacities and multisectoral collaboration, highlighting an innovative path to reduce health inequities and foster healthy eating habits in vulnerable populations.
