This document covers the implementation of a microcontroller based, low-cost, configurable, and reusable fan speed controller used in multiple segments: Client, Server, Networking, and Graphics, used to: 1) Reduce the noise in validation laboratories and provide automated fan speed control during the early stages of the new silicon devices test, 2) Minimize the need for special equipment to cover temperature range tests and, 3) Enable the reuse of heatsinks among the different variants of a product. The solution has been used in different programs on multiple Intel sites across the globe, demonstrating its capability not only to reduce the audible noise levels in our labs, but also to cover temperature tests around 60ºC without the need for a thermal head.es_MX
